Christian Financial Establishes Foundation

Sterling Heights, Mich., (Oct. 10, 2022) – Christian Financial Credit Union today announced the launch of the Christian Financial Credit Union Outreach & Impact Foundation, which will amplify the credit union’s impact in local communities and provide stability for families. To kick off the foundation’s philanthropic efforts, the credit union surprised four local nonprofits today during the credit union’s Day of Giving. This included donations of $10,000 each for a total of $40,000 in initial contributions to Motown Soup, Society of St. Vincent de Paul Detroit, MCREST and Kids on the Go.

“The Christian Financial Outreach and Impact Foundation helps us further our reach into communities and expand the great work we’re already doing to support family stability,” said Christian Financial president and CEO Patricia Campbell. “When a family – natural or chosen – feels secure and has an improved quality of life, this creates a healthy and thriving community for everyone.”

The Christian Financial Outreach & Impact Foundation’s mission is to support families of all kinds in the communities that the credit union serves, through stable housing, improved quality of life, financial well-being, and empowerment of the next generation. The Foundation’s mission will be accomplished through donations to non-profits that support the foundation’s four philanthropic pillars – stable housing, quality of life, financial well-being and empowering the next generation. Each of the four nonprofits who received a donation on the credit union’s Day of Giving aligned with one of the four strategic initiatives.

The Foundation’s initial funding of $50,000 comes from Christian Financial Credit Union. Ongoing, the primary source of funds will come from Christian Financial and donations from employees and members.

The Christian Financial Credit Union Outreach and Impact Foundation will be focused on charitable contributions in the communities in the credit union’s field of membership, which currently includes Macomb, Oakland, Wayne and St. Clair counties in Michigan. The Foundation seeks eligible nonprofit organizations to help create and execute programs aligned with these priorities.

The launch of the foundation coincides with the credit union’s Day of Giving on October 10th, where employees will volunteer at local nonprofits. During the Day of Giving, 150 employees will volunteer their time to benefit local organizations, including Fleece & Thank You, Macomb Foster Closet, St. Vincent de Paul Detroit, Forgotten Harvest, Arts & Scraps, Motown Soup and Detroit Animal Care & Control.
